Common fixes

A child’s apps aren’t locking

Open OnePad Kids › Parent mode › Settings and check that Screen Time permission is on. In iPad Settings › Screen Time, make sure Screen Time is turned on.

Minutes keep counting after they stop playing

Time only counts while the profile’s apps are in use. A session that sits unused ends by itself after 15 minutes.

The lock screen has no button

Some games only run in landscape. Turn the iPad sideways, or open OnePad Kids from the Home Screen or Control Center.

The notice to open OnePad Kids doesn’t appear

Tap Close on the lock screen and open OnePad Kids from the Home Screen. If Do Not Disturb or a Focus is on, allow Time Sensitive notifications for OnePad Kids.

I forgot the master PIN

Tap Parent mode › “Forgot your master PIN?” and enter the recovery code you saved during setup to set a new one. If you lost the code too, email us and we’ll help.

How to stop kids from getting around OnePad Kids

Give Screen Time its own passcode, different from the iPad’s: Settings › Screen Time › Use Screen Time Passcode. Then turn off deleting apps: Settings › Screen Time › Content & Privacy Restrictions › iTunes & App Store Purchases › Deleting Apps › Don’t Allow. If OnePad Kids is deleted, every lock comes off.

A child’s apps don’t unlock

iOS allows up to 50 allowed apps, counting the always-allowed ones. Open Parent mode › the child’s profile › Apps and keep it at 50 or fewer.
